Capsule endoscopy is now available for the first time in Kenya. This state of the art technology is used to examine the small intestine. A camera the size of a capsule is swallowed and pictures are taken and evaluated to diagnose various conditions.

It commonly used is situations where a normal endoscopy or colonoscopy cannot find the diagnosis of an intestinal condition. These are situations where a small intestine problem is suspected such as a bleeding lesion, cancer etc.
